Tour Leader Bob Blossom:We'll travel north from Albuquerque via I-25 to 599 (the Vietnam Memorial Highway), past Santa Fe, through the beautiful Espanola valley then out across the Rio Grande and north along the Chama river into the red cliffs that captivated Georgia O’Keeffe. We’ll be stopping at Bode’s General Store for gas in Abiquiu, then on to Echo Amphitheater in the Carson National Forest. Next, back south for a relaxing picnic lunch next to the lake. We have tentatively arranged a presentation by a National Forest Park Ranger regarding the area.
After lunch we'll head west and back south along Hwy 96, through places like Youngsville, Coyote, Gallina, Regina, La Jar,. Then, we'll cross the Rio Puerco as we skirt the northern perimeter of the Jemez Mountains headed down through Cuba on the Jemez Trail. 550 takes us back through Bernalillo to I-25 just north of Albuquerque where we retrace our steps back to the hotel.
Some of New Mexico’s Finest Scenery is to be had along some wonderful winding roads!
Lunch is included.
